Polars Tennis Drops UMAC Opener, Men Fall 7-2 and Women Fall 9-0

Fridley, Minnesota - The Crown College Polars Men's and Women's Tennis teams faced off with Martin Luther in the UMAC opener, both falling by scores of 7-2 and 9-0.

David Comings shined in the opener winning his singles and doubles match from the #1 position in both. The freshman from Wahpeton, North Dakota won his singles match winning set one 6-4 and finishing the match with another 6-4 finish. This marking the first won match by a polars men's tennis player since 2021. Tim Jaeger the two sport standout battled in his number two singles match but fell 6-4 and 6-3. The combination of Jaeger and Comings in the number one doubles match proved to be too much for the Knights to handle as the duo won 8-7 after a tiebreaker.

Crown also had 5 other players compete with Brock Knick, Titus Krech, Jackson McFaden, Cole Matthys, and Gabe Rojas Gomez. The Polars men ultimately would fall 7-2.

Annie Doyle's performance for the Polars women saw her almost bring her number one singles match to a third set with scores settling at 6-2 and 7-5. Jaidence Medina, Ella Hosmer, Lauren Blees, Alora Devries, Cassie Young, and Amanda Helser rounded out the women who competed for Crown. Martin Luther would win by a score of 9-0.
