Davenport, Florida - The Polars Baseball team faced off with the Marian University Sabres falling by a score of 12-0.
Marian took an early 2-0 lead in the second inning after Crown went down one, two, three to start the game. Ashotn Long started off the second with a single and a walk from Jaco Becker put two runenrs on base and that is where they would stay following an infield fly and a fielder's choice to end the inning. The Marian offense came alive in the third inning scoring 8 runs. The Polars had three players step onto the mound in the third, that including the starter
Noah Neal,
Tyler Bloom, and
Caleb Keen. A few runs from Marian in the 5th would put Crown down 12-0. A few late hits were not enough as Crown fell by the final score of 12-0.
Mason Brock and
Howie Hatton both notched a multi hit game as Brock went 2-4 and Hatton went 2-3.
Noah Neal pitched 2.1 innings and
Tyler Bloom,
Caleb Keen,
Bryan Bullock, and
Payton Clevenger all pitched for Crown. The Polars matched the hit total of the Sabres but were unable to put runs on the board.
Crown moves to 3-2 on the season and looks to bounce back with their next contest happening tomorrow in an 8:45am match up with Roger Williams University.
