Joplin, Missouri - The Crown College Polars Men's Basketball team faced off with Great Lakes Christian, coming out on top 92-63. The Polars took home third place in the NCCAA DII National Championship tournament.
After the first 4 minutes the score was even at 6 each. Crown would leap out in front after a 25-5 scoring run taking the lead 31-11. Six different players would score for the Polars during this run. Crown would end the half ahead by twenty two points with the score settling at at 49-27. The Polars would hold the strong lead throughout the second half and win by a score of 92-63. Eleven different Polars scored points in the effort with twelve players getting over ten minutes in the game.
Leo Lin led the scoring for Crown with 21 points for his career high.
Carter Behne followed shortly behind with 15 points of his own.
Cade Carroll and
PJ Ebeling both totaled 7 rebounds to lead the rebounding effort.
Micah Ladd and
Levi Royston led in assists with 4 each.
Crown as a team shot 47.9% on the game going 34-71 from the field and 41.3% from three point range going 19-46.
The Polars Men's Basketball team finished the 2022-23 season 20-11 on the year and 6-8 in UMAC play. The Polars finish with the most wins in program history in the NCAA-Era.
