Shreve Strikes Twice, Women's Soccer Wins NCCAA DII North Region Final

Minneapolis, MN - The Polars Women's Soccer team faced off with the Providence Pilots on Wednesday in the NCCAA DII North Region Final and came out on top 3-1.

The Pilots gave the Polars a battle early as for the entire first 45 minutes the score held at 0-0. The Polars notched the slight edge in shots with 4 but couldn't find the back of the net. A lively second half started with a goal from Lexi Shreve ten minutes into the second half. Crown took the 1-0 lead and ran with it capitalizing on two more goals within the span of 20 minutes of play. Abigail Shull sent in a goal for her third goal of the season out a pass from Ella Hollander. Shreve connected on her second with over twelve minutes left to play and Crown took the commanding 3-0 lead. A late penalty kick goal from the Pilots was not enough as Crown took home the win 3-1.

Shreve pushed her season total for goals up to four as she totaled 7 shots in the contest. Rachel Fuller played all 90 minutes in goal and only gave up the one goal on a penalty kick. Crown out shot Providence 13-3 in the contest.
