St. Bonifacius, MN - The Polars Women's Basketball team faced off with Buena Vista on Friday night and fell 82-64.
Crown took an early lead and maintained it in the first seven minutes of play when a layup from
Isabelle Sager put Crown up 9-7. The Beavers pushed out in front by six but Crown answered with three straight possessions of made threes. A late first quarter bucket from Buena Vista put them ahead 20-18 after one quarter of play. The second quarter stayed very even, but a late three from the Beavers left the score at 44-39 at half.
The Polars battled right back in the first few minutes of the second half tying the score at 45 apiece. An 18-4 run spelled trouble for Crown as the Beavers started to get hot. Buena Vista held on to the lead from there and the final score read 82-64 in the Beavers favor.
Hazel Serapio had a career high 18 points in the contest as she went six for thirteen from the field and two for three from deep.
McKenzie Latzke notched another double digit game with 10 points.
Isabelle Sager led the rebounding efforts with 9 rebounds.
Morgan Aylsworth also notched 6 rebounds.
Madison Morken totaled 5 assists on the evening.
Crown falls to 0-4 to start the 2023-24 campaign and will next head to UM-Crookston for an exhibiton contest at 2pm tomorrow, November 18th.
