Men's Soccer Flies By Falcons 2-0 Behind Strong Offensive Effort

Kissimmee, FL - The Polars Men's Soccer team faced off with the Kansas Christian Falcons in their first match of pool play at the NCCAA DII Championships and came out on top 2-0.

From the get go Crown led the way as the Polars piled on the shots and the corner kicks in the first half with 16 shots and 11 corners. Despite the many opportunities to get on the scoreboard in the first half neither team was able as the score remained in a deadlock 0-0 after fourty-five minutes. The match continued in the second half with a similar result as once again the Polars continued the offensive barrage.

Not until the 70th minute was Crown able to get on the scoreboard. After two opportunities where cards were given in the box Luca Kaltenbach connected on the second penalty kick to take the slight edge. Just five minutes later Santiago Ciro sent a free kick into the back of the net just inches from the crossbar. These two goals carried the Polars to the win and three points in the all important pool play games.

After the win the Polars will now be one win away from playing for the Championship. Crown faces Boyce College for a 6:30pm showdown tomorrow November 16th with a trip to the NCCAA DII Championship match on the line.
