Winona, MN - The Polars Men's Basketball team faced off with the Saint Mary's (MN) Cardinals on Wednesday and came out on top 81-64.
Six minutes into the game Crown pushed out in front by eight as five different Polars scored baskets to take the 17-9 lead. Crown stretched their first half leaf to 22 points as
Tyrus Buckner,
Jacob Van Dam, and
Micah Ladd all put the ball in the hoop. The first half ended 45-29 with Crown out in front. Down the stretch of the second half Buckner and Carroll led the offense to outscore the Cardinals 36 to 35 in the second half and secure the 81-64 win.
Tyrus Buckner led scoring with 20 points on the day, he also tacked on 6 rebounds, and a block.
Cade Carroll recorded another double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Micah Ladd scored 12 points, added 6 assists, and totaled 6 steals in an impressive effort. Crown shot over 51% as a team in the contest and shot well over 50% percent from 3-point range.
The Polars move to 2-0 on the season and will return home for a 7pm game against Augustana (IL) on Friday, November 17th.
