Greenville, IL - The Polars football team headed on the road for the final game of the season and fell 64-20.
Greenville controlled the game from start to finish scoring three touchdowns in the first quarter and the first score of the second to give them a 27-0 lead. Crown got up on the scoreboard with 11:37 left to play in the first half on a 17 yard touchdown pass from
Diego Narezo to
Isaiah Anfield. The Panthers scored two more times leaving the score at 40-7 at the end of the first half. Crown scored two more times in the second half on a run from
Koby Truehill and a pass from Narezo to Wamsley but the Panthers came out on top 64-20.
Narezo threw for 186 yards and 2 touchdowns but turned it over three times through the air.
Jonathan Wamsley ran for 86 yards and a touchdown. Anfield and Wamsley led the Crown receivers with 68 yards and 49 yards and a touchdown each.
Nathan Tomlinson led the defensive effort with 12 total tackles.
Gabe Banks totaled 8 tackles and a forced fumble and both
Jared Pardee and
Rudy Criner recovered a fumble.
Crown finishes the 2023 campaign 1-8 on the season and 1-4 in UMAC play.
