St. Bonifacius, MN - The Polars faced off with the UW-Superior Yellowjackets at home on Saturday with a chance to make the UMAC playoffs and fell 4-1.
Early fireworks sparked a 1-0 lead for UW-Superior and that lead was short lived as Crown answered right back with a goal of their own off the foot of Luke Kam as he sent a shot into the back of the net.
Ashton Hosler was credited with an assist. The first half stayed even 1-1. Right out of the gate in the second half the Yellowjackets scored to regain the lead. After about twenty two minutes they would score again to push the lead to 3-1. One more late goal from UW-Superior and the Yellowjackets came out on top 4-1.
Luke Kamm totaled 3 shots in the effort, 1 goal from 2 shots on goal.
Marcus Banegas marked the other shot taken by Crown.
Leo Roque played all ninety minutes in goal and totaled 3 saves on the evening.
Crown finishes the regular season 8-10-2 and 6-6-2 in UMAC play and will finish fifth in conference play. The Polars will now set their sights on the NCCAA regional tournament which will occur November 6th-8th.
