Ashland, WI - The Polars Men's Soccer team headed on the road for a matchup with the Northland College Lumberjacks and fell 2-1.
The Lumberjacks came out hot early with two goals within the first 20 minutes of the contest. Despite leading in shots seven to three in the first half the Polars couldn't get on the scoreboard and the rest of the first half. Five minutes into the second half
Joaquin Silva scored to cut the Lumberjacks lead to 2-1 with almost the full half remaining. Crown mustered up 8 shots in the second half but could not find the equalizer as the contest finished 2-1 despite a few late red cards given to both sides.
Silva totaled 4 shots and scored his 5th goal of the season.
Leo Roque added 1 save in goal.
The Polars fall to 6-8-2 on the season and 5-4-2 in UMAC play as they battle to make the UMAC playoffs. The Polars next will return home for the last non-conference game of the season as they take on Faith Baptist at 7:30pm on Thursday, October 19th.
