Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | Jared Gilmore, Director of Sports Information and Operations

Shull Scores Difference Maker, Polars Defeat Knights 1-0

St. Bonifacius, MN - The Polars Women's Soccer team faced off with the Martin Luther Knights on Saturday and won 1-0.

The first half saw an even match with MLC totaling 6 shots and Crown totaling 7 shots. It wasn't until about fifteen minutes into the second half that after a solid touch from Olivia Lyden, Abigail Shull fired a shot with her left foot into the back of the net and she found her first goal of the season. The Knights were unable to answer back as they were only able to muster up one more shot on the day.

Shull totaled 5 shots in the match and 5 on goal with the lone goal of the contest. Olivia Lyden received an assist. Emma Domka also totaled 3 shots and 2 on goal. Goalkeeper Rachel Fuller once again recorded a clean sheet for the second match in a row as she racked up 4 saves.

Crown moves to 4-8-2 on the season and 4-4-2 in UMAC play and currently sits in fourth place in the conference. The Polars will next head to Ashland, Wisconsin on Tuesday, October 17th for a contest with Northland at 4:30pm.
