Ankeny, Iowa – Missing a number of key players through injury, the Crown women's soccer team traveled to Iowa for a rematch with Faith Baptist Bible College. The Polars defeated Faith by a 6-0 score earlier in the season, but their roster and the conditions were much different this time around.
Playing on a natural grass surface, and with rain coming down for much of the match, the Polars used a second-half goal from
Mya Turner and seven saves and a clean sheet from
Naomi Grein to earn a hard-fought 1-0 victory.
Coach
Katie Kandt saw eight players complete the full 90 minutes in a much different match than when these two teams met just eight days prior.
Crown held a 19-10 advantage in shots, with 12 of those being on target, and committed 15 fouls in the match. .
The Polars are at home against UW-River Falls on Thursday, and then take on Minnesota Morris as part of a busy homecoming Saturday next week.
