St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Crown women's soccer team suffered a defeat at the hands of UW-River Falls on Thursday, falling 9-0. The Polars were without three key starters and couldn't keep pace with the tough WIAC side.
River Falls scored on 9 of their 11 shots on target, including two penalty kicks, as the Falcons held a 21-9 advantage in shots and a 15-2 advantage in corner kicks.
The Polars fired three shots on target, with
Ella Hollander putting both of her attempts on goal and
Ashley Pierce, who led the team with five total attempts, hitting the target on one attempt.
Crown will look to get some influential players back for the conference opener, a homecoming matchup with the Cougars of Minnesota Morris. That game kicks off at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
