Ryan Doheny Resigns as Head Baseball and Golf Coach

St. Bonifacius, MN – Crown athletics has announced the resignation of head baseball and golf coach Ryan Doheny. Doheny has been with Crown baseball since 2012 and Crown golf since 2017. Ryan was the lead assistant for baseball from 2012-2017 before taking over as head baseball and golf coach in 2017. Doheny has led massive improvements both on the recruiting trail and on the field.

During Doheny's tenure as head baseball coach, Crown Baseball compiled 74 total wins including a 19-win season in 2021 followed by a 30-win season last year. Doheny has coached some of the most decorated players to come through the program during his tenure. Prior to Doheny's time at Crown, the Polars had never qualified for the UMAC Conference Tournament. In Doheny's second year (2019) he led the Polars to the UMAC tournament for the first time in program history. The Polars haven't missed out on postseason play since with last season being the most memorable. Crown won the 2022 UMAC Conference Tournament for the first time ever and qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history.

Doheny oversaw success on the golf course as well, serving as Crown's men's and women's head golf coach since 2017.

Director of Athletics, Mike Vigue said, "We are very thankful for Ryan's relentless commitment to Crown Athletics. For the past decade, Ryan has poured his heart into building both Crown's Baseball and Crown Golf programs. He has left a lasting foundation on not only our baseball and golf programs, but our entire campus community. We cannot thank Ryan enough for his dedication to Crown College, his peers, and his student-athletes. He leaves Crown highly respected.  We pray that as Ryan, Randiann, Rush, Keira, and Ria start their next chapter as a family, God will continue to lead and bless them."
