Coon Rapids, Minn. – The Crown College baseball team completed their season series with North Central on Saturday, and shut out the Rams thanks to seven innings of one-hit ball from ace Eric Newman.  The Crown graduate senior struck out 12, walked one, and allowed just a base hit in the second inning as part of a near perfect performance. 

As usual, the Crown offense more than did their part, with the big damage done by Kyle Schroedle who hit his 12^th and 13^th home runs of the season as part of a five RBI game.

Mason Brock went 3-3 with a home run of his own, scoring twice and knocking in three.  Seth Betts scored three times, reaching base on a double, triple, and via a base on balls and Jack Becker went 3-3 at the dish.

The win is Crown's 9th straight which puts them at 11-2 in UMAC play and 18-9 overall on the year.

Crown will take a day off and return to action on Monday with a non-conference matchup with Carleton College.
