Crown One Step From National Title After Big Win Over Great Lakes Christian

Joplin, Mo. – With a 104-84 win over top seeded Great Lakes Christian, Crown men's basketball punched their ticket to the NCCAA Division II national championship on Saturday night.  The Storm won big despite losing leading scorer and first team All-American Cade Carroll to a broken wrist after just 13 minutes.

Carroll made his mark on the game despite the early exit, scoring 18 points including five made threes to stake Crown to the early lead.  Crown delivered a three-point onslaught as a team, hitting on 12 of 21 attempts from beyond the arc in the first half and leading 55-26 at the intermission.

Crown kept the high-powered Crusaders at bay throughout the second half, maintaining a double-digit lead throughout the second half thanks to some incredible performances.
Drew Burnett led Crown with 21 points, all in the second half, including a perfect 10-10 mark from the free throw line.

Seth Royston continued his excellent tournament with a 19 point effort on just eight shots including one of Crown's 16 made triples.

Micah Ladd hit double-figures with 16 points and had eight assists before fouling out after 36 minutes on the court.  The sophomore point guard hit on four of seven three point attempts and was perfect in four attempts from the free throw line.

Jacob Masek had a huge double-double with eleven points and 13 rebounds, adding four assists for good measure.

Cade Neubert scored nine points with five rebounds and Carter Behne had an 8-3-4 line in the win.

Crown finished with a 42-28 advantage on the boards and 24 assists on 30 made shots.

Crown will play Campbellsville-Harrodsburg in the championship game on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
