Crown Men Roll into Semifinals with Win Over Morris

St. Bonifacius, Minn. – Having achieved a program-best two seed finish during the UMAC regular season, the Crown men's basketball team hosted a tough Minnesota Morris team in the opening round of the conference tournament on Wednesday night.  Crown used an extremely balanced attack to cruise to an 82-60 victory.

It was a trio of unexpected heroes that propelled Crown to yet another 20 point victory on the night with Jacob Masek leading all scorers with 14 points on 5-10 shooting and three triples.  The junior also added six rebounds.

Carter Behne was incredible, scoring 13 points in as many minutes and dominating on both ends of the floor.  The sophomore had three rebounds, an assist, and two steals and was an incredibly efficient 5-8 from the field and 3-5 from three point range.
The last member of that trio was guard Alec Testerman who also got to double-figures with ten points and added three boards and two helpers on the night.

Jacob Van Dam had ten points, Cade Carroll and Micah Ladd each had nine, Seth Royston added eight to round out the starting five with Testerman. Cade Neubert led the team with eight rebounds and Christian Oldenettel (5) and Drew Burnett (4) rounded out the scoring.

Crown now moves to the conference semi-finals where they will host the number three seeded North Central University Rams on Friday night at 7 p.m.  The game between the familiar rivals should produce plenty of fireworks and an incredible atmosphere so be sure to arrive early!
