Superior, WI – The Crown women's soccer team took on the #1 seeded UW-Superior Yellowjackets on Wednesday in the UMAC Postseason tournament but a complete performance from the top seeded Yellowjackets led to a 6-0 shoutout defeat for the Polars.
Crown was held to just five total shots in the match. The Polars were outshot 30-5 and in shots on goal 17-4.
A close first half ended with a 1-0 score on an early goal by Allison Alessi of the Yellowjackets.
Crown battled in the second half, but Superior was effective on the attack, scoring five second half goals on seventeen shots.
Riley Breitlow totaled 11 saves on the evening.
The Polars will compete in the NCCAA north regional tournament as the #3 seed and will go on the road to face the Faith Baptist Bible College Eagles, Friday Nov. 4
th at 4:30pm.
