Victory for Men’s Soccer at Martin Luther

New Ulm, Minn. – Two first half goals propelled the Crown men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Martin Luther on Wednesday.  The Polars were outshot 17-11, but held a 7-6 advantage in shots on target and held on in tough conditions for the win.

Tim Jaeger once again started the Polars on the front foot after he was played in behind the Knights defense by Diego Romero and scored just one minute and 20 seconds into the game.  The German attacker now has five goals and five assists for the season.

Crown got a second on a volleyed effort from outside the box from Pedro Silveira.  Silveira controlled a cross from Ivan Celedon and scored a goal that proved to be the game-winner in the 32nd minute.

MLC was able to scratch a goal back just before halftime, but ultimately, Crown hung on to take all three points.

The Polars will be back in action on Saturday with a tough matchup against Bethany Lutheran in Mankato.
