Ashland, WI - The Crown Polars Men's Soccer team clinched a spot in the UMAC playoffs after a hard fought 1-1 tie against Northland.
Both teams very equal throughout the match, the Polars duplicated the same amount of shots as the Lumberjacks with 10 shots each, while also matching their shots on goal with 5 apiece.
Tim Jaeger led the Polars offensively by finding the back of the net for his 11th goal on the season in the 55th minute after a scoreless first half. Tim adding to his solid offensive season to total 31 points on the season so far. Defensively
Leo Roque had a solid outing in goal with 4 saves on the day.
The match ended with plenty of cards given for both sides. The Polars totaling 3 and the Lumberjacks totaling 4.
The Polars 5-5-3 record in UMAC conference play puts them in the 4th seeded position with one UMAC contest remaining against the very potent UMAC competitior UW-Superior who they will face off with Saturday at 4:30 PM after a short drive to Superior, Wisconsin.
