St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Crown women's soccer team played visiting Northwestern (Minn.) to a stalemate for just over an hour on Saturday night before the Eagles grabbed three goals to claim a 3-0 win.
Riley Breitlow made eight saves for the hosts, but the Polars couldn't stave off the potent UNW attack quite long enough.
Crown was outshot 11-5 and only managed to get two attempts on frame, from
Emma Domka and
Ellie Schanbacher.
The Polars still hold a two-point lead in the race for the final UMAC playoff spot over Minnesota Morris and the two teams will play the exact same schedule with four remaining games in the conference season. That stretch will start with Crown hosting Bethany Lutheran on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
