St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Crown women's soccer team took on conference favorite UW-Superior on Friday and a complete performance from the visiting Yellowjackets led to a 6-0 shoutout win. Crown was held to just three total shots in the match.
A bright start saw the majority of the first five minutes played deep in the UWS end, but a well-organized defense was able to limit Crown's opportunities and the Jackets scored a pair of free kicks from Allison Alessi to take a 2-0 lead into the break.
Crown again applied a ton of pressure in the second half, but Superior was extremely efficient in attack, scoring four second half goals on just six shots.
The Polars will look to bounce back on Saturday as they host Northland College.
