Ashland, Wis. – The Crown volleyball team was swept by Northland College on Friday night, the team's first game in a conference weekend that will feature a matchup with UW-Superior on Saturday.  The Polars nearly took the third set in an attempt to mount a comeback, but fell just short. 

After dropping the first two sets by scores of 25-15 and 25-18, the Polars came within a point of taking the third set when they led 24-23.  Unfortunately, the Lumber Jills rattled off three straight points and took the final set 26-24. 

Hailey Klein led the team with seven kills, a third of the Polars total.  Gracie Vanbebber had a team-high nine assists and Emma Holey had 15 digs to lead the way. 

The team committed as many attacking errors as kills, finishing with 21 of each on the night, while the Jills recorded 38 kills. 

The UW-Superior game on Saturday is set to begin at 1 p.m.
