St. Bonifacius, Minn. – A busy homecoming Friday at Crown wrapped up with a volleyball matchup between the Storm and visiting Hamline Pipers. The MIAC opponent won in straight sets, 25-13, 25-16, 25-7.
Crown had an efficient night in attack, recording 17 kills to just eight attack errors for a .110 hitting percentage, but were outdone by the potent attack of the Pipers who notched 43 kills and a .381 hitting percentage.
Crown was led in the match by Gracie Zieroth and Teagan Kuckkahn with six kills apiece, while Talana Rudzitis recorded a team high seven assists. Sage Johnston anchored the defense with nine digs.
Crown will get back into the swing of UMAC play next Wednesday as they travel to Northwestern for a 4 p.m. start.
