Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Anderson Goal Not Enough as Crown Falls to Morris in Men’s Soccer

St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Crown men's soccer team got a first collegiate goal from Jimmy Anderson in the second half, but it wasn't enough to stick with an excellent performance from the visiting Cougars.

The Storm went into the halftime break trailing by a goal to nil after a spirited first half that saw the two teams combine for 12 fouls, with the visitors receiving two cautions. The game was physical, but well played between the two teams as the second half wouldn't disappoint a raucous crowd at Old National Bank Stadium.

Unfortunately, it was the visitors who would distance themselves, scoring goals in the 58th and 70th minutes to open up a 3-0 lead.

In the 77th minute, Tim Jaeger played a phenomenal diagonal ball to Santiago Ciro who controlled well at the edge of the Morris penalty area and used some fancy footwork to evade a Cougar defender before sliding the ball across to Anderson who deftly lifted the ball over the Morris keeper.

The goal gave the Storm a lift, but less than five minutes later, the Cougars would add a fourth to seal the game.

Crown returns to the pitch Tuesday with a trip to Bethel University for a 4 p.m. kickoff.
