Pierce's First Two Collegiate Goals Leads Crown to Carter's First Win as Head Coach

MINNEAPOLIS --- Crown College Women's Soccer defeated the North Central Rams 3-1 today in their first match of the season behind first-year Ashley Pierce's two second-half goals. This win marks new Head Coach Katie Carter's first collegiate win as she begins her collegiate career at the top coaching level.

The Storm battled closed in the first half, drawing a 1-1 tie in the period after Emma Domka scored her first goal of the season, a promising start for the sophomore. Domka led the team with 17 shots in the contest and had a game-high eight shots on target. In net, Molly Schmitz had an incredible match with ten saves, and with only one goal allowed, achieved a stoppage rate over 90%.

The Storm will next play on Monday, with a busy week featuring three home matches Monday, Tuesday, and Saturday.
