MINNEAPOLIS --- Crown College Volleyball ended their season on Monday after falling to the No. 8 North Central Rams in the first round of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament. North Central will move on to face the Northland Lumberjills on Thursday.
Junior Gracie Zieroth and senior Madison Timm led the Storm offense with seven kills apiece. The pair has been the consistent high scorers for Crown all season, leading the team in points and kills. The duo had the rare feat of leading the team in the top-three in kills and digs, showing off their well-rounded games.
First-year setter Kaitlin Fischer led the team with 19 assists and ended the year with a team-high 181 (4.89/set), the only Storm athlete over 33 total assists. Defensively, Timm and Zieroth led the team with 14 digs and 12 digs, respectively.
Sophomore Emily Holliday led the team in blocks with two and also led the team this season with 18 total blocks. Holliday stepped up during the season to play middle despite traditionally performing as a setter.
Given the new NCAA regulations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, participants in this season will be given an unconditional waiver to continue their playing career an extra year if they are otherwise eligible. Therefore, all athletes are candidates to return at least one more season to compete.
