DUNDAS, Minn. --- Crown College Softball played a doubleheader against the University of Wisconsin-Superior on Wednesday afternoon at the Dundas Dome near Northfield, Minnesota. The Storm battled close in the first game but fell short 5-2. In the second contest, the Yellowjackets found a rhythm and bested the Storm 11-2 in six innings. 

Sophomore Kuulei Ili hit her first collegiate home run to score Raquel Gonzalez in the top of the third inning; Ili's two RBIs were the Storm's lone two runs in the contest. Fellow sophomore Kaylee Wilson also hit a double joining Ili with an extra-base hit in the contest. 

Sophomore starting pitcher Ashley Earick pitched well in the first contest (better than the score suggests), with only one earned run in six innings of work. 

In game two, Wilson hit a double, leading to a Laryssa Vik score for the first run. Then later in the contest, Zeta Brown put the ball in play to score Zoe Roberts. Roberts and Vik both led the Storm with two hits in the game. 

Pitching for the Storm was first-year Abbie Carroll, who struck out two and allowed three earned runs in 2.1 innings. Maddie Noble followed Carroll and lasted the rest of the contest, striking out four along the way.

The Storm will quickly continue their season, heading to Morris for a matchup with the UM-Morris Cougars on Saturday.
