Arden Hills, Minn. – The Crown men's basketball team was without four members of their rotation on Saturday as they traveled to Bethel University for a non-conference matchup. The shorthanded Storm never found a rhythm on the offensive end and lost by a final of 76-59.
Crown once again struggle shooting the ball, going 5-29 from beyond the arc and just 10-20 at the free throw line. Conversely, the Royals shot 11-22 from deep in their season opener.
Crown was led by
Micah Ladd and
Cade Carroll, who each tallied 16 points.
Jacob Van Dam chipped in with nine points and senior
Dylan Gilmer was an efficient 3-3 from the field for seven points.
Bailey Strikwerda earned his first collegiate bucket in the game as well.
Crown outrebound the Royals 34-32 but totaled only seven assists to 13 turnovers to go along with their shooting woes.
The team heads back out on the road next week for an exhibition game against NCAA Division II Minnesota State Moorhead on Tuesday.
