Women's Soccer Falls 1-0 to Martin Luther
St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Storm women's soccer team fell by a tough 1-0 score line to UMAC foe Martin Luther on Wednesday night. The two evenly matched teams played to a near stalemate, with a very late MLC goal just before halftime separating the two sides.
The two teams combined for just 20 shots on the evening, with MLC having the edge 13-7 and an 8-4 advantage in shots on goal.
Molly Schmitz had a good game between the sticks, collecting six saves and coming off her line early and often to collect loose balls in the box.
Crown was led by Ellie Taylor with two shots on target, while Emma Kaiser and Trinity Gregory had the other shots on goal.
The Storm sit firmly mid-table in the crowded UMAC standings, just two points out from a playoff spot. A huge home matchup with Bethany Lutheran awaits this coming Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
