Morris, Minn. – Playing without either of their two natural goalkeepers, the Crown women's soccer team was subjected to 37 shots over the 90 minutes from a Morris team who kept the pressure on for the entire match.
Sidney Manske filled in admirably between the sticks, making 17 saves, but Crown eventually fell by a final score of 5-0.
The Storm managed 10 shots of their own, but were unable to find the back of the net as they were shut out in this UMAC road contest. In what has become an unfortunate 'normal' the Storm once again had only three substitutes available and had eight players complete the full 90 minutes as the team continues to battle a string of injuries and bad luck.
Ashley Pierce and
Emma Domka each had four shots in the game, with Pierce leading the team with two shots on frame.
Crown travels to familiar foe North Central on Friday, having beaten the Rams twice already this season, they will try to make it three in a row with kickoff set for 1 p.m.
