ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. --- Today, Crown College Athletics officially announces the intent to play basketball in Spring 2021. This year's season will feature a few non-conference games planned in addition to our conference season, which starts on Wednesday, January 30. All mid-week games this season will be at 7 p.m., and Saturday games will be at 3 p.m. This year will have no doubleheaders, with Men's and Women's teams playing at opposite locations.
Crown College has decided for our players' health and safety not to allow fans in the stands at home games. However, all games will be streaming on the Crown College Sports Network, with the broadcast starting one hour before each home contest. Only players, coaches, refs, and game management personnel will be in the Storm Athletic Center.
"It was a difficult decision not to have fans for this upcoming season," said Crown Director of Athletics Jamison Ross. "Prioritizing our student-athletes' health led us to this decision. It's most important to try to keep our students in the classroom this year and mitigate the chances of sending our entire student body home."
Crown College Athletics follows the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Upper Midwest Athletic Conference, and Minnesota Department of Health guidelines. The decision to limit spectators is not an unusual one this year, with the MIAC prohibiting spectators during the 2021 winter season.
You can find updated schedules at the links below, including links to the live streams to all of our contests (provided at least three hours before each game). Especially this year, the schedule is incredibly likely to change and at a moment's notice, and our Twitter page will have consistent updates with game time changes, cancelations, and other important information.

In October, the NCAA provided a blanket waiver to all athletes who participate in the 2020-21 season, allowing them to compete without losing a season of eligibility. In athletics.crown.edu articles, players' bios will show their year as if that waiver did not exist for a sense of continuity.
