Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Ledin's 31 Points Lead Storm over North Central for 90-77 Win

ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. --- Crown Men's Basketball defeated the North Central Rams, 90-77, on Saturday afternoon as the Storm evened up their conference record to 7-7. The Storm were leading the Rams throughout the contest, but North Central cut the Storm lead down to one point with 15 minutes left in the second half. From there, the Storm went on a huge run and led by as much as 17 on their way to victory.

Senior Gunnar Ledin's 31 points led the Storm's scoring and was his third time eclipsing the 30-point mark this season. Ledin made 9/16 field goal attempts and was a perfect 10/10 from the free-throw line. Ledin also added seven rebounds, five assists, and two steals.

"We came into the game with a toughness about us," said Ledin. "We only let the Rams have seven rebounds in the second half, and that was one of our three keys to victory. We came out strong, played tough, got steals, rebounds and put in the basket on the other end."

Fellow senior Tim Wendel scored 23 points in the contest on 7/11 shooting, his fifth straight game reaching 20 points. Wendel notched a team-high seven assists, five rebounds, and three blocks in the game. Junior Christian Moore scored nine points and grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds.

First-year Alec Testerman, senior Zach Skorik, and senior Torry Ledin all scored exactly six points. Sophomore Seth Royston scored five points and fellow sophomore Brandon Pratt added four to complete the Storm's scoring. The Storm shot remarkably well in the contest, making 49.1% of their shots from the field and 39.3% from beyond the arc.

The Storm have already punched their ticket to the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Playoffs and will head to St. Scholastica for the first round a week from Monday. Before that, the Storm will finish out their conference schedule facing the Bethany Lutheran Vikings in Mankato on Wednesday, and hosting Senior Night with the Northland Lumberjacks coming to St. Bonifacius on Saturday.
