MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. --- Crown Baseball concluded their regular season on Sunday, facing the Augsburg Auggies in a nine-inning non-conference matchup. Unfortunately, the Storm fell to the Auggies 6-5.
After falling to an early 2-0 deficit, the Storm scored four runs in the third inning to take a 4-2 lead. The inning started with a
Chad Herrera RBI single, followed by a
Gideon Dunn hit an RBI single, and the Storm taking advantage of miscues and a
Bailey Sarto fielder's choice to add another two runs. The Storm scoring stopped there until the ninth inning when
Brooks Repking singled to third base, scoring
Dylan O'Neil.
Nick Brock pitched 2.1 innings for the Storm and received the start;
Ethan Hyatt,
Eric Newman,
Jevon Tompkins, and
Seth Betts additionally pitched for Crown.Â
The Storm conclude their regular season with an NCAA-era record 16 wins. They advance to the UMAC Playoffs for the first time with a matchup against the UW-Superior Yellowjackets on Thursday.Â
