NEW ULM, Minn. --- Crown Softball ended their conference schedule on Tuesday, splitting with the Martin Luther Knights after winning the first game 6-2, and falling in game two 11-3.
In the first contest,
Liz Kemp had a huge game going 3/3 from the plate and hitting two doubles.
Telma Roesler and
Samantha Collins each had two RBIs and an extra-base hit apiece.
Laryssa Vik had the lone other RBI for the Storm. Crown scored all of their runs in the fourth and sixth innings, with four in the fourth and two in the sixth. It was sophomore
Olivia Christopherson that received her fifth win of the year for the Storm, with 2.2 innings pitched, one hit allowed, no runs allowed, and five strikeouts.
Liz Kemp and
Maddie Noble also pitched for the Storm, with two strikeouts and one earned run each.
In the second game, the Storm fell after a huge second inning for the Knights, when Martin Luther score six runs. Christopherson once again was on the mound for the Storm, and only had one earned run in 4.2 innings of work, striking out three.
Liz Kemp had the lone extra-base hit for the Storm, and two hits overall.
Lottie Ellis also had two hits and
Ally Adams recorded her third RBI of the year.
The Storm next compete at their "Senior Night" on Thursday in St. Bonifacius as they host the Augsburg Auggies.
