ST. PAUL, Minn. --- Senior Crown Men's Basketball guard Gunnar Ledin received his first Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Player of the Week honor on Monday after a stellar week for the Anoka native. Facing Morris last Wednesday, Ledin put up 32 points, a record eleven assists, five rebounds, and two steals to lead the Storm to a 91-76 win. In addition to the new Storm single-game NCAA-era record eleven assists, he hit eight three-point attempts, another Storm single-game NCAA-era record.
The Storm then headed to Northland College where Ledin scored 18 points, dished four assists, and grabbed three boards in the blowout 84-42 win. With only 42 Northland points scored, the Storm set an NCAA-era institutional record for least points allowed in a conference game, and Ledin helped lead the Crown defense. Ledin currently leads the Storm averaging 23.3 points per game and 3.4 assists per game.
Ledin's award is the first of his collegiate career, and second of the season for the Storm as fellow senior Tim Wendel was awarded a UMAC Player of the Week honor on November 11.
