Volleyball Homecoming Spoiled by Rams

ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. — Crown Volleyball's homecoming game brought a big crowd but a hard loss against conference matchup North Central University. The Storm started out the game strong winning the first set, but then fell the last three sets 1-3 (25-22, 17-25, 22-25, 16-25).

Crown had a great defense going with senior Cortney Gunderson leading with twenty-one digs. Sophomore Talana Rudzitis wasn't far behind with fourteen, and Ellie Clark with thirteen. Senior Sarah Reinke and sophomore Gracie Zieroth both led the offense with nine kills each. Rudzitis also led in assists with fourteen.

"I love this team. I love how we fight hard and push ourselves," said Rudzitis. "As we continue into the season, we need to bring intensity in everything we do in order to be great. The season isn't over, and we aren't giving up anything. We have pride in this school, in this team, and in ourselves. Tonight, communication and discipline lacked in certain areas, but this loss will not bring us down."

The Storm will play their next game Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 7pm against St. Olaf in Northfield, Minn.
