Lakeville, Minn. — Crown men's and women's team won their first UMAC contests this past week, and the programs set another milestone in their opening season. Crown women's team won their first match overall this season with a strong performance from their singles matches, winning five of six possible.
Facing North Central for the second time (but the first conference matchup), Crown women's team avenged a loss to the team earlier this year, besting the Rams 6-3.
Abby Nelson won #1 singles 6-4, 7-5 along with partnering with
Linda Miller for an 8-0 #2 doubles win.
Sierra Allison won her #3 singles match 6-1, 2-6, 10-6. Miller won her #4 singles match 6-4, 6-2.
Madison Stricklin won her #5 singles games 6-3, 6-0 and
Veronika Mykhailiuk capped off the matches, winning 6-1, 7-6.
On the men's side, Crown dominated NCU 7-2. Similar to the women, the men also won five of their six singles matches.
Caleb Baumann swept #1 singles 6-0, 6-0.
Romeo Mork won his #2 singles games 6-2, 6-2.
Chad Anenson won his #3 singles 6-3, 6-4.
Ger Jones won 6-4, 6-0 and
Travis Burg won 6-1, 6-0. Baumann and Mork also combined for an 8-2 doubles win, and Jones and Anenson swept #2 doubles 8-0.
