Davis Scores, Rebounds, Passes, Steals One Last Time

St. Bonifacius, Minn. — It was the end of an era for Crown women's basketball on Saturday as three Crown players with almost 300 combined games played took the court one last time in the purple and gray.

Desiree Davis, who is second all-time in points, and first in rebounds, steals, and assists, led the team in every category one last time with 15 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and four steals in a game against St. Scholastica. Andrea Besa played in her final match as she battled through injury, and in only 25 minutes of action, she scored five points and had six rebounds along with an assist and two steals. Besa has played in more games for Crown's women's team than anyone and is the only Storm player in history to break triple digits in games played (101). Madison Stricklin only had two points but had four rebounds, a block, and two steals as her career came to a close. Stricklin is second all-time in blocked shots for the Storm.

Unfortunately, while Crown battled close with the Saints of St. Scholastica, the Saints pulled away late with four made three-pointers in the fourth. Also contributing for the Storm was sophomore Stevey De La Ossa who had six points and only a single turnover. Junior Kayla Carter also added five points and four rebounds. Sophomore Patricia Gibson had four rebounds and four steals, despite not making a field goal. Rose Crowns had six rebounds and Brooke Honeck scored four points as the team fought hard against a team that is headed to the UMAC Playoffs on Monday.

Crown ends the season with a Crown record ten wins, their first time hitting double-digits in the NCAA-era. The had first time wins against a MIAC (Hamline), Northwestern, Martin Luther and won a tight game with Lawrence from Wisconsin.
