Women's Soccer Ties Game with Four Minutes Left, Falls in OT

SUPERIOR, Wis. --- Crown's women's soccer team played in a dramatic game with the UW-Superior Yellowjackets on Wednesday but fell in overtime to the Jackets 2-3.

Crown went into halftime trailing 0-1, but first-year Abigail Taylor worked around the defenders on the left side and put the ball in the right corner to tie the game less than a minute after the midway break. With five minutes remaining, the Yellowjackets scored to go ahead and looked to seal a victory. However, a Hailey Carter assist to Belle Flucas gave Flucas the opportunity to score as she put it right where it needed to be over the UW-Superior keeper. The game then went into the first overtime period, where with a minute the Yellowjackets ended the game with a goal.

First-year Hailey Carter led the team with six shots on goal in the game, with Lottie Ellis leading in total shots with seven. Sophomore goalie Michaela Cowman had 17 saves in the game on 31 shots faced. Taylor received the a yellow early in the overtime period, Crown's only card in the match.

Superior outshot the Storm 15-20 in the game. Crown returns home for a Wednesday night game at KleinBank Stadium against the Martin Luther Knights.
