ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. --- Crown's volleyball team was swept on Tuesday evening by the Northwestern Eagles; 18-25, 8-25, 8-25. Crown started the first set strong, scoring 18 points in the period, a season-high in their two matches with the Eagles. The Storm only trailed by four points late in the set. However, the Eagles dominated the second two sets to sweep the Storm.
Crown was led by reigning UMAC Defensive Player of the Week
Christine Anderson who had six kills. First-year setter
Elizabeth Clark had 12 assists in the match. Junior
Madeline Svoboda led the Storm defense with ten digs. Anderson, sophomore
Madison Timm, and junior
Sarah Reinke all recorded a block in the match, and Clark and junior
Danielle Novak both recorded an ace.
Crown continues their season-ending homestand tomorrow as Crown takes on the College of St. Scholastica at 3 pm in the Wild Athletic Center.
