Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Peace Has Double-Double as Crown Falls to MBU

St. Bonifacius, Minn. — Senior Trey Peace recorded his first double-double of his collegiate career with 12 points and 11 rebounds in a loss to Maranatha Baptist Saturday afternoon. Peace also led the team with five assists in the matchup. The difference in this non-conference game came in the three-point shot differential; Maranatha was 9/18 from beyond the arc, while Crown struggled shooting 9/34 from range. This loss drops Crown down to 7-10 this season and is their last non-conference game of the year.

Sophomore Tim Wendel led all Crown players with 18 points on 50% shooting (though he was only 1/7 from three-point land.) Austin VanDerHeyden had 14 points and made two three-point attempts in the game. Torry Ledin was in double figures for the second time this season with 11 points.

This game was a stark contrast to the last time the Sabrecats came to town. In last year's matchup, Crown held Maranatha to 46 points, while allowing almost double that this year. This game improved MBU's record to 8-6 as they keep above .500.

Sophomore Kole Jusczak was perfect from the field for the second straight game with eight points on two field goal attempts. He has been perfect from the field in four of their past five games. Crown's next home game is an 80s night theme with the Northwestern Eagles coming to town. Northwestern is now 7-2 in UMAC play after winning six straight UMAC contests; their last loss came at the hands of the Storm when Crown traveled to Northwestern in December.
