Christine Anderson had a team season best 18 kills on the way to the Crown volleyball team's first victory of the season, winning in four sets against Faith Baptist. Crown's second game against Grinnell went to five sets, but unfortunately, Crown wasn't able to find a way to win the final set and sweep the day.
In game one,
Christine Anderson had 18 kills and two blocks to lead the way for the Storm. She had help from senior
Kelsey Roschen, who had 46 assists in the four sets and 77 on the day, along with 14 digs in the win.
Michaela Svoboda led the defense for Crown, with 28 digs and 47 on the day. Another key factor of Crown's win was
Karissa Steinkamp, who had nine kills and two blocks, tied for the most blocks on the team with Anderson.
The won the first game in four close sets, 25-19, 27-25, 22-25, and a dominating score of 25-15 to close the game. In game two, Crown won two close sets but struggled in the losing sets. After falling behind 0-6 in the fifth set, it was difficult to come back with the short 15 point goal.
Crown volleyball moves onto St. Olaf on the 11th, the last game before the conference season begins.
