Ashland, Wis. — The Crown's men's soccer team traveled to northern Wisconsin to face a UMAC opponent, the Northland Lumberjacks, on Saturday. Despite the great performance of the defense and senior goalkeeper
Eli Etzel, allowing no goals in the game, the Lumberjack defense and Thomas Whiting did the same, resulting in Crown's second straight tie.
The Storm outshot Northland 21-13 and had 12 shots on goal, but couldn't find the back of the net to defeat the Lumberjacks. Senior
Josiah Steinkamp led the Storm in shot attempts, with four on goal of his five attempts.
Cristian Olarte had six shots, but only three on goal.
Austin Higginbotham,
Mason Shrewsbury, and
Jason Kragt also had shots on goals in the game.
In goal,
Eli Etzel had six saves and his second shutout of the season. This game was his first shutout since his first start in goal this season against Bethel University and raised his save percentage to .812.
Crown goes to face the University of Minnesota-Morris in Morris on October 3rd.
