St. Bonifacius, Minn. — Crown's men team competed with the Northwestern Eagles for a Saturday day game, but after taking the lead in the 50th minute on a penalty kick shot by
Jason Kragt, UNW's Josiah Donat scored three consecutive goals for the Eagles as they won the game.
Sophomore
Jason Kragt had his first goal of his career, as did
Kirby Shetler. Scoring is a family affair for both players as Shelter's older brother Truman is the career-leader in goals for the men's soccer program and Kragt's twin Anna also had a goal in the women's game after the men's game finished. Both Shelter and Kragt had their woes in the match, with Kragt receiving a yellow card in the 68th minute and Shelter with an own goal. Senior
Josiah Steinkamp also had a yellow in the second half.
First-year
Igor Shevchenko had his third consecutive game with a shot on goal as he looks to find his first collegiate goal.
Storm Heyer also had a shot attempt recorded as he received playing time for the first time since facing Bethel early in the season as he recovers from injury.
Senior goalkeeper
Eli Etzel had seven saves with the four goals allowed in a complete game.
The Storm men's soccer team next plays North Central as they continue their UMAC schedule Wednesday next week.
