Superior, Wis. — Crown men's soccer team fell to the UW-Superior Yellowjackets 1-2 as an overtime goal won the game for the Yellowjackets in the 94th minute of gametime.
After a sixth-minute goal by Superior, Crown was able to score on their first shot of the game as
Mason Shrewsbury set up a
Ger Jones goal in the 18th minute. This latest goal is Jones' second goal in as many games and Shrewsbury's first point of his collegiate career.
Senior keeper
Eli Etzel had nine saves as Crown was outshot 28 to 2. Etzel was a star, keeping the team in the game and didn't allow a goal for 88 minutes between Superior's sixth minute up until the Yellowjackets' second score, ending OT in the 94th minute. Only Jones (on his goal) and first-year
Igor Shevchenko had shots in the game, both on goal.
Crown's next game is against the University of Northwestern on Saturday, as they continue to look for their first UMAC win.
