Men's Basketball Wins 4th Straight

Ankeny, Iowa -- Crown Men's Basketball defeated Faith Baptist 79-40 Thursday night, propelling the team to their 4th consecutive victory. The Storm jumped out to an early 6-0 lead and never looked back, holding the lead wire to wire in the game. Crown dominated the first half and took a 46-19 lead into halftime. The red hot first half was highlighted by the team going 68% from the field including 6-9 from beyond the arc.

The Storm were lead by Tim Wendel and Christian Moore, who each had 15 points in the contest. Moore was a perfect 5-5 from the field and 5-5 from the free throw line which Wendel finished 3-5 from the three point line. Austin VanDerHeyden also added 10 points and 8 rebounds in only 15 minutes of action. Josh Volness also added scoried in double figures for Crown with 11, going 3-4 on his three point shots. In all, 11 different players would score on the night for Crown. Faith was lead by Sam Pedersen who scored 15 on the night in his 36 minutes of action.

Crown finished the game shooting 53%, while also hitting 10 threes. They were a perfect 9-9 from the free throw line. The Storm also capitalized on 19 Eagle turnovers, scoring 23 points off of those opportunities.

Crown improves to 4-2 on the season while Faith drops to 2-4. Crown opens up UMAC play next Thursday at Minnesota Morris.
