Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Free Throw Woes Haunt Storm, Fall to Viterbo 58-75

St. Bonifacius, Minn. — Storm women's basketball fell to NAIA Viterbo on Friday night, hanging with the V-Hawks until the last quarter. Desiree Davis and Andrea Besa both had 14 points in the game to lead the Storm, but the V-Hawks scoring 25 points from the free throw stripe compared to only 11 (out of 23 for the Storm) was the difference.

Senior Desiree Davis led the Storm in most facets of the game once again with team-highs in points (14), rebounds (8), and steals (2). Davis also added two assists and only turned over the ball once despite her high usage percentage. Fellow senior Andrea Besa had three assists, three rebounds, and two steals to go with her 14 points in only 21 minutes of gameplay.

Kayla Carter and Hannah Malone both had eight points in the game. Malone added three rebounds and a steal, and Carter added five rebounds, two assists, and a steal. Senior big Madison Stricklin had a great game as a facilitator, with three assists and six boards, and six points on only five shots. Patricia Gibson had two blocks and seven rebounds as she solidified the post in her 22 minutes of action.

Crown next plays tomorrow in an exhibition away at Valley City State, an NAIA powerhouse.
