Chilcoate Rushes for 121 Yards vs. St. Scholastica

St. Bonifacius, Minn. — Crown football hosted the St. Scholastica Saints on Saturday afternoon, who came into the matchup undefeated in the UMAC. Crown kept pace through one quarter, tied at seven with the Saints, but St. Scholastica pulled away to win the game 49-21.

First-year running back Derek Chilcoate led the Crown offense with 121 yards and a touchdown on 21 attempts. In first-years Luke Lithander's second straight game starting at quarterback for the Storm, he passed for 127 yards and two touchdowns on 15 completions. He also threw two interceptions during his 25 passing attempts. Sophomore David McIntosh led the receiving core with 53 yards, and Anthony Laureno and Nick McCormick both catching touchdown passes from Lithander.

First-year Jeremiah Jones led the team with 13 tackles in the game. Sebastian Alvarado had a tackle for loss and a pass breakup in the game. Robel Ezana and Daniel Lee also recorded tackles for loss in the game. On special teams, punter Tyler Hubert would have set the school record with a 72-yard punt, but a defensive penalty gave Crown a first down, and that negated the punt.

Crown's next game is the homecoming for the Storm, with Martin Luther coming to town for a 5 pm match next Saturday.
