St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Crown's women soccer team fell to North Central on Wednesday afternoon. While playing well, they couldn't overcome a 0-2 first half deficit to beat the Rams.
The game started off with an impressive goal from the junior forward
Dakotah Sparrman (Apple Valley/Shattuck-St. Mary's) who rocketed the ball in from over 30 yards out. Sparrman then had a beautiful pass that led to a second goal to sophomore
Abby Schwinden (Lakeville/Lakeville North).
Crown College won the second half with a shutout second half by sophomore goalkeeper
Marissa Becerra (Rosenberg, Texas/Lamar Consolidated) and a dominating offensive possession resulted in a North Central own goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately Crown couldn't find the back of the net again, falling to the Rams who secured their first win of the UMAC season.
Crown College finishes their five-game homestand with a game against Northland on Saturday, 2 pm.
